Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future has been the talk of the town in recent months as his current Liverpool deal expires at the end of the 2024-25 season.
The 26-year-old has been in fine form under Arne Slot and started every Premier League game for the club as the Reds find themselves a point behind Manchester City at the top of the table.

Steve Nicol expects Trent Alexander-Arnold to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid
With Dani Carvajal out for the foreseeable future due to an ACL injury, Los Blancos are in desperate need of a right-back and have long courted Alexander-Arnold.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side snapped up Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer earlier this year and could be about to repeat their trick with the Liverpool vice-captain, although the Reds won’t go down without a fight.
Nicol believes Alexander-Arnold is a Real Madrid player if there ever was one, adding that everything he’s heard about the transfer saga so far suggests the Scouser is on his way to the Spanish capital.
“If anybody fits the profile for Real Madrid it’s Alexander-Arnold,” said Nicol on ESPN FC’s YouTube channel.
“A full-back who doesn’t really defend, although someone praised him this year but I’m not so sure about that.
“To be honest, all the noises I hear absolutely point towards him going there. The fact that Carvajal had such a bad knee injury will only mean that Real Madrid’s desire is even stronger than it was earlier.
“I get a feeling in a part of my stomach that Real Madrid and Alexander-Arnold are going to be getting together in the not-so-distant future.”
Who could Liverpool sign to replace Alexander-Arnold?
Conor Bradley is already at the club and could be given a chance to stake his claim for a starting XI spot, having burst onto the scene under Jurgen Klopp last season.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong has been linked with a move to Liverpool as a potential replacement for Alexander-Arnold, with the Dutchman delivering a string of magnificent displays under Xabi Alonso.
That said, the Reds’ priority will be to tie down Alexander-Arnold to a new deal, so it remains to be seen how the situation transpires in the coming months.
