Don Hutchison shares whether he thinks Mohamed Salah will get into Liverpool’s greatest team of all time

Mohamed Salah has taken centre stage for Liverpool yet again this season and his form has shown no signs of dipping under new manager Arne Slot.

Signed for £34.3m from Roma in 2017, the Egyptian maestro has broken records aplenty at Anfield and has written his name into Liverpool history, winning seven major trophies so far.

With his contract set to expire next summer, Salah said earlier this season that he’s calm about his future, although the Reds are yet to make progress on an extension.

Al-Hilal are keeping tabs on Salah and are willing to pay a sizable transfer fee to sign him even if he puts pen to paper on an extension.

As speculation surrounding his future continues to dominate the back pages, Don Hutchison has stated whether the 32-year-old would make Liverpool’s all-time XI.

Salah has already notched up eight goals and seven assists across all competition for Liverpool this season and recently scored a crucial equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

With his goal at the Emirates Stadium, he took his tally up to 62 goal contributions against the Premier League’s big six since joining the club in 2017, a staggering record that shows his pedigree on the grandest stage.

Highlighting Salah’s record against the big-six, Hutchison wrote on X, “Liverpool LEGEND and will get in the greatest Liverpool team of all time. What a signing.”

Liverpool are scouting Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz as a potential replacement for Salah but haven’t given up hope of tying down the 32-year-old to a new contract.

Salah’s stats at Liverpool so far

Salah hasn’t made fewer than 32 Premier League appearances in a season since joining the club and his tally of 18 league goals last season represents his worst-ever season with the Reds, which quite frankly is a staggering record.

He has shown no signs of slowing down despite entering his 30 and is undoubtedly one of Liverpool’s greatest-ever players, if not the greatest.
