Liverpool came back to draw 2-2 against Arsenal in one of the most entertaining Premier League games of the season.

The Reds went into the break 2-1 down with Mikel Arteta’s side looking set to cruise to a massive win in the title race, yet a world-class move out of the blue from Liverpool saw Mohamed Salah tie the game up to see the points shared.

Although Virgil van Dijk was criticised by Gary Neville for his defensive performance for Liverpool, Arne Slot will feel like his Anfield side came away from north London with a point won given how dominant Arsenal were for most of the game.

Yet things could have been different for Liverpool after what Pat Nevin spotted with Darwin Nunez.

Nunez left annoyed over lack of Liverpool service vs Arsenal

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the pundit noted how Nunez looked ‘frustrated’ by having little to work with from Liverpool, who were sloppy in the final third and provided little creativity for the Uruguay international to latch onto.

With Nunez assisting Salah for the crucial equalising goal, it was a disappointing game for the former Benfica star given how little help the striker was given from his Liverpool teammates, who were off the boil completely in the midfield.

Indeed, it was a frustrating game overall for Liverpool, who missed out on the chance to return to the top of the Premier League table, and Nunez’s frustration on the pitch over a lack of service was clear for all to see.

Nevin said about the Liverpool striker: “Darwin Nunez is getting frustrated. He has had very little to work with in the final third so far. He will run and run but he has only been able to put in a few tackles and barges on people so far.”

Nunez will have every right to feel annoyed by Liverpool’s creativity

Although Liverpool managed to rescue a point against Arsenal, few fans will be pleased with today’s performance, with the Reds simply not at the races against a team who could have put the game to bed had their finishing been better.

And Nunez will feel he has every right to be annoyed by the lack of service he received at the Emirates Stadium, with Liverpool’s midfield producing little and doing the bare minimum in getting the ball up the pitch.

After Nunez impressed midweek against RB Leipzig, the striker will feel he had a point to prove against Arsenal today, and his teammates failed to deliver in what was a huge test for the Reds.
