Arne Slot has been nothing short of sensational at Liverpool since succeeding Jurgen Klopp as manager of the Reds.

The Anfield side sit second in the Premier League ahead of facing Arsenal today with Slot making Liverpool history in becoming the first Reds’ manager to win their first six away games, with the Dutch coach losing just once all season.

With Mikel Arteta recently raving about Slot and what the former Feyenoord manager has done at Liverpool since being appointed as head coach in the summer, it’s safe to say that the Dutchman has been quite the revelation for the Merseyside giants.

Yet Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has now shared one big problem Slot could soon have on his hands.

Slot warned on how Liverpool players will react after bad run of form

Speaking on the Up Front Podcast, the Anfield icon shared his concern on how Liverpool’s players could react once Slot has experienced his first run of bad form with his new team, with the Reds yet to experience that this season.

Although Liverpool suffered a historic loss against Nottingham Forest, 11 wins from 12 games in all competitions is quite the record for Slot, yet Souness has now warned the Dutch manager about what could happen if results start to slump.

Souness said when asked about Liverpool’s Premier League title credentials and the work Slot has done: “Have they convinced me yet? No, because I’m looking at Arsenal and I’m looking at City and I think right now they’re still a wee bit ahead of them.

“But you know, he’s made the most fantastic start. I think his management style would be enjoyed by the players, but they’ve been winning games. His problems will start when they start to lose a few games, then we’ll see if the players are still thinking the same about them. Managers are two different people.”

Can Slot maintain Liverpool’s good form?

Liverpool face arguably their biggest test this season later this afternoon in the form of Arsenal, with the Gunners still in the Premier League title race despite last weekend’s loss to AFC Bournemouth.

Yet as per Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League games, there’s a real chance that the Reds can maintain their good form under Slot if they can come away from north London with a win today, with some huge games on the horizon for the Anfield side.

Indeed, Aston Villa and Manchester City will be two huge tests for Liverpool, but having already beaten Chelsea and a win against Arsenal likely today, the Merseyside giants could continue their winning run in their upcoming games, a feat that will solidify Slot’s status as Klopp’s perfect successor.
