Liverpool got another win on the board in the Champions League on Wednesday evening after beating RB Leipzig.
The Reds made it three wins from three in Europe, to go with their eight victories in nine domestic matches this season.
It has undeniably been an incredible start to life at Anfield for Arne Slot. After Wednesday’s success in Germany, the Dutchman has now made the best start to a season in Liverpool history.
That will be put hugely to the test on Sunday, though, when the Reds return to Premier League action to face Arsenal at the Emirates.
The match has the potential to be a big one in the division’s title race, with the two teams finishing second and third last season.
Arsenal have won the last two Premier League meetings between the sides on home turf, but according to Rio Ferdinand, Liverpool could put an end to that poor run this weekend.

Rio Ferdinand names Liverpool favourites for Arsenal clash
Liverpool are certainly in better form than Arsenal right now. However, given how well they’ve started the campaign, the Reds are outplaying just about everyone.
The Gunners’ have a few injury issues heading into the match, too. Bukayo Saka is facing a race against time to be fit, while Martin Odegaard is definitely out and William Saliba is suspended.
With three of their biggest players out or potentially out for the match and with Liverpool picking up such sparkling results, Ferdinand has named the Reds as ‘100 per cent’ favourites to beat Arsenal.
Speaking to TNT Sports immediately after Liverpool’s win over Leipzig, the Man United legend was asked who he thinks is more likely to win on Sunay.

“I think on form, momentum, I would say 100 per cent Liverpool,” Ferdinand answered. “I think they’re the team you look at and think they’re in a better position.
“In terms of injuries, Arsenal seem decimated in that sense and they haven’t got the momentum at the moment. So, they’re not firing on all cylinders, they’re not the Arsenal of last season at the moment.
“I think the tide has turned a bit right now,” added the former centre-back. “We’re only a few games into the season but right now, here, I’d say Liverpool would be the favourite.”
Can Liverpool get big result on Sunday?
Although Arsenal are in a slightly tricky patch at the moment, we’re not necessarily sure we subscribe to this view from Ferdinand.
Yes, Liverpool look a little better, but the Gunners have also lost just once all season, and that was last weekend against Bournemouth. They are hardly falling apart.
They do have a couple of big players missing, but it now seems likely that Saka will be ready to feature which will be a boost to Mikel Arteta.
Given that they are currently four points ahead of their opponents, you’d have to say that even with the ‘favourites’ tag, a draw would be a fine result for Liverpool.
Going out to get the win would be a big statement, though, and there’s a real feeling that the Reds now have a definite opportunity to beat Arsenal and pick up a massive, early result in the title race.
