Liverpool sit top of the Premier League with the Reds facing one of their biggest tests of the season on Sunday away to Arsenal.

The Gunners lost valuable ground in the title race on the weekend with Mikel Arteta’s side losing 2-0 to AFC Bournemouth as William Saliba was sent off, making the French international unavailable to face Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.

Another player who could be out for Arsenal is Bukayo Saka, who was injured in the recent international break for England with the 23-year-old missing the trip to the Vitality Stadium and last night’s UEFA Champions League win against Shakhtar Donetsk.

And Arsenal now have a plan in motion on what to do with Saka ahead of facing Liverpool.

Arsenal doing all they can to make Saka available to face Liverpool

According to CaughtOffside, the north London side are doing ‘everything’ to ensure Saka is available to face Liverpool, with the winger in sensational form for Arsenal this season in the Premier League and in Europe.

With Saka good friends with Trent Alexander-Arnold, the Arsenal forward missing the game will be a huge boost for Liverpool, who have lost at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League in their last two visits.

Indeed, Saka recently admitted that he’s ‘scared’ to face Alexander-Arnold, with the Liverpool defender in excellent form this season heading into this weekend’s huge Premier League tie at the Emirates Stadium.

And if Arsenal are without Saka coupled with Saliba already being out, Liverpool could enjoy one of their biggest Premier League results in recent time in north London if Arne Slot gets his game plan right.

Liverpool’s Premier League title credentials will be tested on Sunday

With Liverpool top of the Premier League, the Reds know they have a target on their back heading into Sunday’s game, especially with Arsenal looking to make a statement of their own after Satuday’s loss to Bournemouth.

Yet Liverpool will want to head to north London this weekend with the confidence that they can get all three points, something that will confirm the Reds as title contenders for this season and arguably Manchester City’s biggest threat for the championship.

Liverpool looked good against Chelsea and have impressed for the majority of the season, and winning against Arsenal will be huge for Slot’s side in their bid to make history.
