Arne Slot is inheriting a Liverpool squad which has some of the best players in the world.
The Reds won everything there was to win under Jurgen Klopp, with the former manager’s brilliance an obvious factor in that.
But it’s also true that the Liverpool players are of the absolute highest quality. The Reds wouldn’t have won the trophies they did under Klopp without some superstars in amongst it.
As the new head coach settles in, he must be pinching himself at the amount of class he can now call his own.
But Slot doesn’t need his new coaching staff, or even the Liverpool fans to tell him that. The opposition players are already doing it for him.

Bukayo Saka raves about Trent Alexander-Arnold
When you think about Liverpool players who may ‘scare’ the opposition, you largely think of the riches the Reds’ have at their disposal in attack.
Mohamed Salah, for example, is one of the best forwards of his generation, while the raw pace and power of Darwin Nunez must be a nightmare to play against, too.
Those two themselves have earned plenty of praise from those who have faced them. But in terms of sheer aura, Liverpool’s defence is equally as indominatable.
Virgil van Dijk is the man who most would conjure in their mind’s eye here. Only recently Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo detailed why Van Dijk is so difficult to play against.

But according to Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, it is actually his England teammate, Trent Alexander-Arnold who instils fear in opposition teams.
Speaking to the BBC ahead of England’s game against Denmark on Thursday, Saka praised Alexander-Arnold’s ability to pick teams apart with his passing.
“For us attackers it’s a joy to play with him,” said the 22-year-old. “He is always looking forward and in behind.
“I think when he plays the opposition are a bit scared. You never know where he can find the spaces or which pass he is going to play. He is definitely appreciated within the team.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold struggles for England
Alexander-Arnold is without a doubt one of the most gifted footballers England has produced for a long time.
The Liverpool academy graduate is a beautiful passer of the ball and is such a weapon for any team to have.
Despite that, there is a feeling that Trent is not being properly used by England. Saka obviously enjoys playing with him, as any player would.
But as Thursday’s draw with Denmark showed, manager Gareth Southgate is not getting the best out of Alexander-Arnold.
Again the Scouser started in midfield alongside Declan Rice. Again he was hooked early into the second-half.
With England poor on the ball all over the pitch, it was difficult for Alexander-Arnold to get into the game. We still saw that link up that Saka is talking about once or twice, but he needs help to bring out his frightening best.
