Liverpool have made a superb start to the season under Arne Slot, but they are now heading for their toughest period yet.
Slot hasn’t been surprised at Liverpool thus far, with the manager having taken over from Jurgen Klopp in the summer.
He had huge boots to fill after the departure of Liverpool legend Klopp, but he has really stepped up in his early stages at the club.
Slot has guided the Reds to plenty of important wins across the Premier League, Champions League and League Cup so far.
But his credentials will now be put to the test ahead of a busy period across such competitions in the coming weeks.

Ray Houghton blown away by Liverpool star Luis Diaz
It has been a real team effort from Liverpool under Slot so far, although one player that has really stepped up is attacker Luis Diaz.
The Colombian has caught the eye of former Reds ace Ray Houghton thanks to his superb displays, with the pundit saying on talkSPORT (8.42am, 20 October): “I have been really impressed by him.

“People forget what happened to him at the start of the year with his father, the problems that he had. Obviously, that has been massively playing on his mind, but from the start of this season, he has been absolutely sensational.
“The form that he has been in, it seems to me he wants to show the Liverpool public what he is really about, the talent that he has got. He is a creator of goals, he scores goals. I think he is going to have a massive season for Liverpool.”
Luis Diaz takes his game to another level under Arne Slot
Diaz’s talent was immediately on show for all to see when he made the switch from Porto to Merseyside under Klopp in 2022.
But the Anfield faithful were often left frustrated by the winger, who constantly terrorised defenders before failing to find the back of the net.
His end product has, however, massively improved under the Dutchman, with Diaz currently on five goals from nine appearances this season.

He does have just one assist to his name, with that area of his game needing to improve, although there cannot be too many complaints about the winger overall.
The Colombian has linked up superbly with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota, and has seemingly landed the number one spot on the left wing under Slot.
Keeping that won’t be easy, however, with the likes of Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa all able to replace him.
