Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson produced another hugely important display for Scotland as they drew 0-0 with Portugal on Tuesday.

Robertson impressed in the 2-1 loss to Croatia on Saturday, on what was Ben Doak’s first start for his nation.

Liverpool loanee Doak has been shining at Middlesbrough, with the winger also impressing for Scotland given that he was handed another start against Portugal.

Robertson captained the hosts in their Nations League clash, producing a battling display against the world-class talents of Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota.

Steve Clarke’s side almost secured a memorable win against the European giants, but they will be happy to have clinched a point at Hampden Park.

The Glasgow Times concurred with an 8/10, writing: “The skipper stood up a brilliant cross for [Scott] McTominay early on in what was an outstanding piece of vision that should have resulted in a goal.

Liverpool star Andy Robertson key for club and country

The full-back has been a key player for club and country for several years now, with Robertson joining Liverpool for just £10million in 2017.

It has proven to be one of the best transfers in the history of the club, with the Anfield faithful still adoring the Scotland star.

He will have left his Liverpool teammate Jota hugely frustrated in Glasgow, with the attacker unable to get one over the left-back.
