Liverpool have made it a mission of late to sign as many talented youngsters as possible, and this work could provide some stunning results in the years to come.
The Reds won the race for Ben Doak in 2022 with the 18-year-old winger now a Scotland international and currently impressing out on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough, where the youngster recently scored his first professional goal.
With Liverpool also making big efforts to sign the likes of Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha in the last 12 months, it’s clear that the Anfield side are not slowing down anytime soon in their quest to bring as many youngsters as possible to Merseyside to help with future squad building.
And Liverpool could now be back in for a youngster who the Reds were linked with last year.

Liverpool back in the race for Lecce wonderkid Patrick Dorgu
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Liverpool are back in the hunt for Lecce youngster Patrick Dorgu, with the 19-year-old defender also attracting interest from the likes of AC Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham.
With Liverpool linked with signing Dorgu last year under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds coming back in for the Denmark international is perhaps no real surprise given how rapid the teenager’s rise has been at Lecce.
Capable of playing on both flanks as a winger or a fullback, Dorgu is one of the most versatile youngsters in Europe with the Copenhagen-born talent already having a goal for his name in Serie A.
And for Liverpool, there’s good reason why Dorgu is now back on their radar, with the Reds potentially in the market for a fullback and a winger in 2025 with the futures of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah still up in the air.

Liverpool need to ensure they win the race for Dorgu
With Gianluca Di Marzio lauding the Dane as an ‘excellent’ talent, Dorgu is a player who is likely to go far in his career having firmly established himself in Serie A as a big prospect for the future at the highest level.
And for Liverpool, the Anfield side need to ensure that they are the side who win the race to sign Dorgu, with the Reds aware that the Scandinavian youngster could solve a lot of their potential issues in the future.
Capable of playing as a fullback or a winger, Dorgu is the wide-player of dreams for many managers, and Arne Slot could work wonders on the Lecce star if Liverpool win the race for the teenager in 2025.
