Liverpool continued their fine start to the new season under Arne Slot with a 5-1 win over West Ham in the League Cup.
West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui praised Slot before the match at Anfield, where Liverpool conceded the first goal.
Jarell Quansah scored an own goal for the Reds, but a brace from Diogo Jota turned the game on its head.
Mohamed Salah added a third for the hosts, with Edson Alvarez then shown a red card for the Hammers before a double from Cody Gakpo.
Federico Chiesa meanwhile impressed on his first Liverpool start, with the Italian given 59 minutes by Slot in the League Cup third round clash.

Jamie Carragher impressed by Diogo Jota as Liverpool beat West Ham 5-1
The summer signing will even claim an assist for Liverpool’s opener, although it was a wayward shot from Chiesa that resulted in Jota’s first goal.
Jota really impressed Anfield legend Jamie Carragher as he nipped in to head beyond Lukasz Fabianski, with the pundit saying on Sky Sports Main Event: “How brave is that from Jota?
“You think of the goals he gets, so many in the air, acrobatic from Chiesa. How high does he get there, Jota? He times the jump to perfection.”
Arne Slot has stunning attacking options at Liverpool
Jota joined Liverpool from Wolves for £41million in September 2020, with that fee proving to be an absolute steal.
The same can be said for the £10million paid for Chiesa from Juventus, with the Italian having already proved his worth to the Anfield faithful.
In a very exciting time for those fans and indeed Slot, Jota and Chiesa are just two of the high-profile names among the club’s attacking options.

Their fellow forwards Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo also found the back of the net against West Ham, proving Liverpool’s strength in depth in that area.
And that is even without mentioning the names of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, with the former scoring on his first start of the season against Bournemouth.
And Diaz looks improved under Slot, with the Colombian already boasting five goals from his five Premier League appearances this season.
