According to CaughtOffside, Bayer Leverkusen superstar Florian Wirtz has emerged as one of Liverpool’s top targets for the 2025 summer transfer window, with the Germany international expected to move on from the Bundesliga club next year.

Highlighted as a ‘special’ player, the £85m-rated attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the best players in all of Europe having guided Leverkusen last season to the German title and the DFB Pokal undefeated.

And with Liverpool in the market for a new superstar forward with Mohamed Salah reportedly set to leave Anfield next summer, Wirtz could be the ideal player to replace the Egyptian international if a deal can be agreed with Leverkusen.

Indeed, although Real Madrid are the favourites for Wirtz, Liverpool can make a big claim to sign the 21-year-old Germany international if they start putting in the groundwork now for the Leverkusen star, who could be sold on a move to Merseyside.

Capable of playing on both wings and already on six goals and one assist for the season, there’s a lot to like about Wirtz’s game when it comes to looking at potential marquee signings for Liverpool next summer.

And with the Germany sensation already identified as a top target for the Reds, Liverpool must now do all they can to sign Wirtz next summer, who could be perfect in Slot’s system as a potential Salah replacement.

Indeed, Wirtz is going to be a man in demand next summer, and Liverpool need to ensure they don’t miss out on yet another superstar name like they have done in the past with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice.
