Liverpool will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League as they host Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend but bounced back in midweek as they brushed aside AC Milan to win 3-1 in their UEFA Champions League opener at the San Siro.
Arne Slot’s side have begun the season with three wins and one loss from their first four games and will aim to make amends at home after a lacklustre showing against Forest.
And Paul Merson believes Liverpool will record a routine win at home on Saturday.
Paul Merson thinks Liverpool will beat Bournemouth

With Arsenal and Manchester City set to take points off of each other this weekend, Merson feels Liverpool can close the gap at the top of the table if they get three points here.
“I watched Liverpool in their loss against Nottingham Forest and I thought they should move the ball a lot quicker,” Merson wrote in his column for Sportskeeda.
“But Liverpool are fortunate since Manchester City and Arsenal play each other this weekend. The Reds can gain on these two teams with a win over Bournemouth.

The Arsenal legend predicted a 2-0 home win as he tipped Slot’s men to quickly put their disappointment against Forest behind them.
He continued: “In that regard, the loss to Nottingham Forest may not affect them as badly as we think.”
Liverpool will aim to continually improve under Slot
While it looked like Liverpool would go through a bit of a transition after Jurgen Klopp’s departure, those fears have been allayed in double quick time as Slot has already made a massive impact at Anfield.
The players have adapted very well to his methods and if the early signs are anything to go by, a special season could be on the cards for the club.
Tony Cascarino feels Liverpool can win the Premier League title this season and with Man City and Arsenal set to play against one another this weekend, the Reds can lay down the marker with a big win against Bournemouth.
