Liverpool are in need of a win against Bournemouth this weekend after falling to defeat last time out in the Premier League.
The Reds went down to Nottingham Forest last Saturday before bouncing back against AC Milan in the Champions League in midweek.
While the win over Milan has very much restored the positivity around Liverpool’s season, it will need backing up at Anfield on Saturday.
Arne Slot had no right to be pleased with his team’s display against Forest and the head coach was clearly extremely disappointed with what he saw from the Liverpool squad.
Things were much better at San Siro, with Slot surprisingly changing only two players from the team who lost just a few days before.
With so many games coming up, some had perhaps expected the Dutchman to change things a little more. But after going with much of the same, Liverpool have unfortunately now picked up a fresh injury problem.

Alisson Becker a doubt to face Bournemouth
Liverpool have so far been relatively okay in terms of injury problems. The Reds have been besieged by issues over recent seasons.
But following the appointment of highly-rated head of conditioning Ruben Peeters, only Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott have missed games so far.
Saddeningly, that could be about to change on Saturday.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Slot reported that goalkeeper Alisson Becker has picked up a problem and could miss the match with the Cherries.

“Alisson is still a doubt if he can train today,” said the Dutchman. “Let’s wait if he can train, if he can’t he will probably not play. We have to wait and see.
“He has a slight issue with one of his muscles,” added Slot when pushed further on the nature of the issue.
“And we wonder if this game from tomorrow is coming too early or not. He didn’t get it in the Milan game it happened a bit before but he felt it more and more.
“We have to wait to see if he’s ready or if we have to wait a few more days.”
Alisson injury issues continue
Thankfully, aside from Alisson and Elliott, Slot confirmed that Liverpool have no further issues ahead of the Bournemouth game.
However, that will not take away the frustration that another problem for Alisson is likely to cause.
The Brazilian has a strong claim to being the best goalkeeper in world football right now. But he misses far too many games through injury.
Alisson played just 32 games last season in all competitions. While that allowed Caoimhin Kelleher to shine, it was hardly ideal for the Reds to be missing such an important player.
With another injury now rearing its head, perhaps Liverpool’s move to sign Giorgi Mamardashvili for next summer is starting to make a whole lot more sense.
