Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch continued his superb start to life under Arne Slot by helping the Reds beat AC Milan in the Champions League.

Gravenberch played the entire 90 minutes as Liverpool won the League Phase match 3-1 against Milan at the San Siro.

Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai grabbed the goals on a fine night for Arne Slot and his side.

Alexis Mac Allister impressed on his debut in the Champions League, with Konate also shining for Liverpool.

The centre-back was solid at the back throughout, having not been at fault for Christian Pulisic’s early strike in Italy.

Ryan Gravenberch loves what Ibrahima Konate did for Liverpool vs AC Milan

The defender, who was second choice to Jarell Quansah at the start of the season, caught the eye of his Liverpool teammates with his latest European display.

He wrote on Instagram after the win: “Big win to start the #UCL campaign! Happy to score tonight and help the team!”

And many Anfield stars were quick to comment, with Gravenberch writing “Crazy” with a fire emoji, with Van Dijk, Mac Allister and Luis Diaz also praising the defender.

Ibrahima Konate justifies Arne Slot decision at Liverpool

Perhaps Slot just wanted to give Konate a brief rest at the beginning of the season, having partnered Van Dijk with Quansah against Ipswich.

But the latter was withdrawn at half-time of that Premier League clash at Portman Road, with Konate favoured since then.

And that has proven to be a smart decision from the man in the Anfield dugout, albeit he will have been disappointed with Konate and his fellow defenders against Nottingham Forest.

The Reds conceded a very sloppy goal to lose 1-0 on home soil last time out, but hopefully they will have learned a valuable lesson.

Slot should be confident that it was a mere blip, with his side having kept three consecutive clean sheets to start the new season.
