Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard enjoyed a stunning career, both for the Anfield club and indeed for England.

Gerrard sits on an exclusive list for his country, with the former Liverpool captain having reached 100 England appearances.

The midfield legend made 114 Three Lions appearances in total, scoring 21 goals along the way, along with his 186 goals from 710 Liverpool matches.

Gerrard has since turned to management, with the 44-year-old in the dugout at Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq.

But he is still keeping tabs on his old team, with Gerrard loving the signature of Federico Chiesa in the summer transfer window.

Trent Alexander-Arnold on cloud nine for Liverpool and England

Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold helped Kane on the night, with the right-back assisting the striker for the opening goal at Wembley.

The Anfield star almost overshadowed his captain with a Man of the Match display in the 2-0 win, but the night was certainly all about the Bayern Munich striker.

It was a successful international break for England interim manager Lee Carsley, who also guided the Three Lions to a 2-0 win against Ireland.

And again, Alexander-Arnold was awarded the Man of the Match trophy for his fantastic performance in Dublin.

The full-back had already been flying high under Arne Slot at Liverpool, with his three clean sheets helping the Reds get off to the perfect start in the Premier League.
