Liverpool fans are eagerly awaiting the moment summer signing Federico Chiesa will make his debut for the club.

Chiesa has impressed in Liverpool training, having been practising with those not participating in the international break.

The winger arrived from Juventus in the final moments of the summer transfer window, creating plenty of excitement among the Anfield faithful.

While Chiesa wasn’t ready to play against Man United, a Liverpool debut could arrive as soon as the international break is over.

And Arne Slot could certainly do with having Chiesa fit and ready, with the fixtures coming thick and fast for Liverpool later this month.

What Federico Chiesa’s dad told him to do about Liverpool interest

The Reds return to action with a league clash against Nottingham Forest, quickly followed by a Champions League meeting with AC Milan.

Chiesa is likely to feature in one, if not both of those games, with the attacker likely to have had plenty of training sessions under his belt by the time they come around.

The 26-year-old is delighted to be at Anfield, but he did need to check in with his father Enrico before making the switch.

According to the Premier League website, when Liverpool came in for the player, Federico said of his father: “He told me immediately: Go! It’s the best choice for your career.”

When will Federico Chiesa make his Liverpool debut?

Federico will be keen to follow in the footsteps of his father, with the former Italy striker having scored at Anfield at Euro ’96.

But his son should have much grander ambitions for the years to come on Merseyside, which should include winning plenty of silverware and finding the back of the net on a regular basis.

Getting into the team won’t be an easy task given the start the Liverpool attackers have made to the new season, with Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota all in red-hot form.

Chiesa does, however, have the advantage of not being away on the international break, meaning Slot could turn to him first for the home meeting with Nottingham Forest.

There is a long season ahead, and every Liverpool forward should be fully aware that they will be given time to impress by Slot.
