Liverpool players have jetted off for international duty in good spirits after their excellent start to the Premier League season.
The Reds have a perfect record after three games of the campaign and are ready to do battle for their countries.
As they join up with their international teammates, there are a few Liverpool players running into rivals from Manchester United.
Following the 3-0 thumping they dished out to United on Sunday, some of the Liverpool squad may be in for a slightly awkward encounter with their countrymen.
One of those is Alexis Mac Allister, who flew to Argentina along with Man United defender Lisandro Martinez.

Alexis Mac Allister shares Lisandro Martinez snap
Martinez did not have a good game for United on Sunday. The 26-year-old has terrible memories of Liverpool having had rings ran around him at Anfield during the famous 7-0 defeat.
In truth, last weekend was little better for Martinez. As well as being all at sea for Luis Diaz’s second goal in particular, the centre-back picked up a booking for a foolish challenge on Dominik Szoboszlai.
After that tackle, which was about half an hour late, Martinez felt the wrath of Virgil van Dijk, who was furious.
As a result, it’s perhaps safe to say that the Argentine is not the most popular person with the Liverpool players.

Nevertheless, he is clearly a friend of Mac Allister’s. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the Liverpool midfielder shared a picture of he and Martinez stood smiling together at Argentina’s training ground.
With a handshake emoji as the caption, Mac Allister’s post was an indication that Sunday’s United vs Liverpool encounter was water under the bridge.
Martinez shared the same photo on his own Instagram, leading to a quite understandable backlash from United supporters.
And Mac Allister’s post secured a reaction from Reds teammate Cody Gakpo, who commented ‘Okaaay’ alongside a shifty eyes emoji.
Alexis Mac Allister misses training
Unfortunately, it was not all smiles for Mac Allister after arriving back home this week.
Reports from Argentina have confirmed that Mac Allister missed training ahead of his country’s games against Chile and Colombia.
Thankfully, it has also been reported that the 25-year-old’s absence was planned, with Mac Allister still said to be ready to take part in the matches.
For Liverpool, they’ll be hoping that their No.10 is managed appropriately while away with the World champions. Macca is too crucial to Liverpool for any risks to be taken.
Despite the smiles, perhaps coming up against Martinez in training after Sunday’s spanking was something that was wise to avoid!
