Liverpool are in a fantastic position heading into the first international break of the season.
The Reds have taken nine points from nine and are yet to concede a goal during Arne Slot’s reign as head coach.
The three wins have Liverpool sitting in second position in the Premier League, only behind Manchester City on goal difference.
While it had perhaps not been expected at Anfield before the campaign began, the Reds’ good form has led to suggestions that they could be in for a title challenge.
And speaking after Liverpool thrashed Manchester United 3-0 on Sunday, United legend Paul Scholes has made a prediction about what Slot could achieve this term.

Paul Scholes backs Liverpool title challenge
Following on from a good push towards the top of the table last season, some would have predicted that Liverpool would do the same again.
The Liverpool squad has remained more or less the same, and in players like Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah, the Reds have genuine, world class quality within their ranks.
However, with a new head coach sampling the league for the first time, expectations were a little more realistic on the whole.
Nevertheless, the early games of the season have added weight to the feeling that Liverpool could well be in the mix come May.
Having gone toe-to-toe with City for the last two campaigns, it looks likely that Arsenal will be in there once again as well.

However, speaking to the Premier League after Liverpool thumped his old team at the weekend, Scholes says that he now has Slot’s team as being City’s most likely challenger.
“There’s a real dominance about that Liverpool squad,” says the former midfielder. “They could really challenge for that title this year.
“Before a ball had been kicked I thought it might be Arsenal’s year to give City a real go and possibly go on to win it. But after watching the first three games I think Liverpool could go past Arsenal.
“If they keep the majority of the squad together and fit I think that’s a team that can challenge City without a shadow of a doubt,” Scholes adds.
What are Liverpool’s expectations?
Although the first three games have indeed been incredibly encouraging, there should be wariness over making claims such as these.
Slot is yet to face any adversity at all as head coach at Anfield and how he reacts to that will be the most telling of all.
The season is long and there is little question that the Liverpool squad is relatively thin. An injury or two in key areas and things could stat to unravel.
For now, though, supporters should be tentatively hopeful of being in the mix for the title at the end of the season. Top four should certainly be the bare minimum expectation.
Given the standards he seems keen to set for his players and coaching staff, you get the impression that Slot won’t be satisfied unless Liverpool achieve what Scholes believes they can.
