Liverpool made just the two signings this summer in Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili and Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
With the Reds joint-top of the Premier League table and Arne Slot getting his new side playing some excellent football, an early assumption could be made that the lack of signings has turned out to be a good thing for Liverpool.
Although the failed pursuit for Martin Zubimendi was an embarrassing episode for Liverpool, the Anfield side look exceptional this season, with this weekend’s 3-0 win against Manchester United a testament as to how good the Reds have been.
And Liverpool are now seemingly putting in the ground work to make a big signing in the future.

Liverpool scouting Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Reis
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are one of many top European clubs scouting Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis, with Real Madrid, Arsenal and FC Barcelona also chasing the Brazil youth international.
As per the report, Reis is a ‘strong’ defender who is likely to follow the likes of Endrick and Estevao Willian out of Sao Paulo and to Europe in the coming years, with Madrid the current favourites for the 18-year-old.
Having missed out on a number of wonderkids throughout the years, Liverpool will be keen to right their wrongs in the January transfer window with the signing of Reis, who looks set to move to Europe in 2025.
And with Liverpool scouts keeping tabs on Reis, there’s a real chance that the Reds could make an actual offer for the defender, who could jump at the chance to move to Anfield next year.

Liverpool must do all they can to sign Reis
Palmeiras has become something of a breeding ground for incredible Brazilian wonderkids in the last two years, with the Sao Paulo side making some serious profit from the likes on Endrick and Estavio.
And in Reis, Palmeiras could have the next big star on their hands, with Liverpool in the race to land the defender alongside Madrid and Premier League rivals Arsenal.
And for the Reds, they must do all they can to sign Reis in 2025, with the defender a talent the Anfield side can’t afford to miss out on given their limited options in the position already this season.
