Liverpool star Mohamed Salah continues to shine as he approaches the end of his contract at Anfield.

Salah blew Roy Keane away with his display for Liverpool in the 3-0 victory against rivals Manchester United.

Jamie Carragher also praised Salah after he netted for the Reds in their Premier League win at Old Trafford.

The Egyptian now boasts three goals and indeed three assists from his first three matches of the new season.

Worryingly, however, Salah’s contract with the Merseyside club will expire next summer, with no extension in sight.

Gary Lineker says what Liverpool need to do to keep Mohamed Salah

Salah has provided an update on the situation, telling Sky Sports: “Coming into the game, I said it could be the last time [I play here with Liverpool].

“No one at the club has spoken to me about contracts, so I’m just like: ‘Okay, I’m playing my last season’ and see what happens at the end of the season. It’s not up to me, but nobody’s talked to me from the club. We will see.”

Former Premier League star Gary Lineker has now weighed in on the situation, saying on The Rest Is Football podcast: “I don’t know whether he is playing games, but he has obviously only got a year left.

“He will be on a free, he will be very much sought-after, he will get a big deal. So it’s going to take a lot I think probably for Liverpool to keep him.”

Will Mohamed Salah extend his Liverpool contract?

All Liverpool supporters will be desperate for Salah to continue playing at the club for as long as possible.

His stunning performances don’t look like stopping anytime soon, with the winger shining against Ipswich, Brentford and now Man United.

The Red Devils simply hate the sight of the attacker, who has constantly tormented them ever since joining the Reds.

Aged 32, Salah is showing no signs of slowing down, with the Anfield star now on 214 goals and 92 assists from his 352 Liverpool appearances.

It is a simply stunning record, with fans of the Merseyside outfit certain to become increasingly worried as each day passes without a contract renewal, or at least signs of talks.
