Liverpool have produced a solid start to the Premier League season after beating Brentford 2-0 on Sunday.
The Reds have now won two games on the bounce to begin the campaign, scoring four times and – pleasingly – conceding zero.
A big part for their two shutouts so far has been Ibrahima Konate. The Frenchman came on at half-time against Ipswich Town last weekend and followed that up with 90 minutes at Anfield on Sunday.
Konate had a poor end to last season, perhaps leading some to forget just how good the 25-year-old can be. However, Ibou looks refreshed and ready to send some reminders under Arne Slot.
Konate had a decent shout to be the Liverpool man of the match against Brentford. However, listening to the centre-back’s assessment after the game, he’d much sooner give it to one of his ‘crazy’ Liverpool teammates.

Ibrahima Konate hails Mohamed Salah
There were so many good performances for Liverpool against Brentford. The all-round display was not perfect, no, but a number of players really stood out individually.
Jurgen Klopp gave his verdict on Ryan Gravenberch playing in a deeper role earlier this week and the Dutchman again showed his suitability for playing that position.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s forwards were at it again. Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz combined brilliantly to put the Reds into the lead, before Diaz fed Mohamed Salah for the second.
And speaking to LFCTV after the game, it was Salah who Konate was left near speechless by.

Told that the Egyptian has now scored 93 goals in 128 games Anfield since joining Liverpool in 2017, Ibou’s reaction said it all.
“This guy is crazy!” laughed the centre-back “I’m a very big fan of Mo.
“It’s crazy, every season it’s always the same story. Even when he goes to the Africa Cup [of Nations] he has a lot of goals. I don’t understand how he does that really.
“He’s a big inspiration for me because I saw it every day how he works and I want to be like him,” Konate concluded.
Mohamed Salah adds to ridiculous Anfield record
Ever since his very earliest days with the club, Salah has always loved playing at Anfield. That has never changed.
But the 32-year-old’s goals record in the famous old stadium only tells half the story.
Of course, Mo has been lethal at sticking the ball in the net over the past seven years. He showed that once again on Sunday.
What often gets overlooked about Salah, though, is that he’s also brilliant at setting his teammates up.
128 games deep into his Anfield career, Mo has scored 93, yes, but he’s also laid on 35 assists. That makes it 128 games and 128 goal involvements. Crazy indeed. Not normal, in fact.
