Liverpool are leaving it late to do their business in the transfer window this year.
With just a week now remaining before the deadline passes, the Reds are still yet to make a single addition.
As there are one or two glaring holes within the first-team squad, some supporters are becoming concerned that Arne Slot is going to be left short.
If that does end up being the case, though, then Slot can rest safe in the knowledge that he can always throw in some players from the Liverpool academy.
The Reds’ have been developing young players to supplement the senior team with a certain relentlessness over the past couple of years. And with an exciting new addition announced on Friday, that doesn’t look like stopping any time soon.

Liverpool complete Alvin Ayman deal
Although Liverpool are yet to make a first-team addition this summer, they have once again been busy scouring the country for top young prospects to add to their academy.
It has become a familiar theme over recent summers that Liverpool pick up some of the brightest youngsters the UK has to offer.
In 2021, for example, Kaide Gordon and Bobby Clark were signed from Derby and Newcastle respectivley.
A year later came Ben Doak from Celtic, Trent Kone-Doherty from Derry City and James McConnell from Sunderland, before Trey Nyoni and Amara Nallo joined from Leicester and West Ham.
There have been plenty more besides and this year looks no different from the Reds. Rio Ngumoha will arrive from Chelsea in what is seen a big coup for Liverpool.

As well as Ngumoha, it has been reported that Liverpool will sign Wolves midfielder Alvin Ayman, too.
And while we wait on Ngumoha, journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Friday morning that the deal for Ayman has now been wrapped up.
“Liverpool have completed deal for 16-year-old talent Alvin Ayman to join the Academy from Wolves,” says Romano.
“5 year deal, £2m compensation fee and Premier League’s 5 step approval now completed.”
Liverpool won’t change their approach
While it is clearly a huge frustration that Liverpool cannot seem to get a senior signing over the line, these kinds of deals should not be sniffed at.
Slot has confirmed that Nyoni is training with the first-team at the moment and, who knows, maybe that could be Ayman this time next year.
Liverpool clearly bring in these talents from outside with a view to them getting into the first-team at some stage. Although not flash or eye-catching, that is just good business from the Reds.
Even if they don’t end up making it, the players can be sold for big profit as has just happened with Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van den Berg.
So, we’re all for this. No expectation should be placed on Ayman for the time being, but he’s certainly one to keep an eye on in the academy over the course of this season and beyond.
