Liverpool aces Bobby Clark and Trey Nyoni have reacted after one of their teammates was tied down to a new long-term contract.

Arne Slot has largely focused on outgoings at Liverpool, with the Reds yet to sign anyone in the summer transfer window.

Clark is close to a Liverpool exit, but Nyoni looks set to play a role this season after starring against Sevilla in pre-season.

Liverpool are ‘seriously considering’ another signing after missing out on Martin Zubimendi, with the midfielder having looked like being Slot’s first incoming.

But it wasn’t meant to be, with the Spain international deciding to remain at hometown club Real Sociedad.

Bobby Clark and Trey Nyoni react to Lewis Koumas contract

Fortunately, the Reds have managed to convince one young star to remain at Liverpool, with Lewis Koumas penning a new long-term deal.

The striker, who scored on his only Reds appearance to date, has headed to Stoke City on loan for the season, having shared his delight at the contract on social media.

“2029,” Koumas wrote on Instagram. “Deal done. Happy to sign my new long term contract and commit my future to Liverpool.

“Thank you to everyone who’s been involved in my journey so far and helped me develop into the player I’m becoming, moments like this make all the hard work and sacrifices worth it.”

Both Clark and Nyoni have reacted to the move, with their Anfield teammate Jayden Danns also wishing Koumas all the best on the temporary transfer.

‘Special’ Lewis Koumas has bright Liverpool future

The attacker joined the Reds from Tranmere Rovers as an Under-11, and made his senior debut against Southampton last season.

Koumas was labelled ‘special’ by Jurgen Klopp, the 18-year-old found the back of the net in the 3-0 FA Cup win against the Saints.

He received a first Wales call-up shortly after, with the teenager then featuring under Slot in pre-season clashes against Preston North End and Real Betis.

Koumas now heads to Stoke in a bid to develop his ability, with the youngster certainly making the right decision by heading away.

Son of former Premier League star Jason Koumas, Lewis will undoubtedly get plenty of opportunities to shine in the Championship.
