Arne Slot is yet to take charge of a professional game for Liverpool, yet results in pre-season suggest that the Reds have quite a coach on their hands.

A 4-1 win against Sevilla wrapped up Liverpool’s summer friendlies, with the Anfield side looking in good nick ahead of the new Premier League campaign on Saturday, where the Merseyside giants take on newly-promoted Ipswich Town.

Although transfer activity has been non-existent for most of the summer, there’s been enough signs in training and in games to suggest that Liverpool will be a force to be reckoned with in the new Premier League season.

And preparations made by Slot in the first few days of his tenure at Liverpool have seemingly paid off.

Slot studied Liverpool’s weaknesses way before pre-season started

According to the Athletic, Slot studied video of Liverpool games and identified areas of weakness way before the start of pre-season, with the Dutch coach since applying his tactics and ideas to help solve these problems.

With Liverpool beating Manchester United, Arsenal and Sevilla in pre-season, the Reds have responded well to their new manager and the new direction the six-time European champions are now heading in.

Indeed, the prospect of heading into a new era without Jurgen Klopp felt like a daunting task for Liverpool at the start of the summer, given just how revolutionary the German coach was for the Anfield side in the last nine years.

However, early signs have been encouraging for Slot, and whilst some problems do need addressing via the transfer market, the Dutch coach has seemingly got a good hand on things as we approach the new season

It’s hard to tell whether or not Slot will be as big for Liverpool in the 21st century than Klopp was in his nine years on Merseyside, yet the Dutchman could be quite the hit with supporters in the coming years.

The former Feyenoord coach is a manager who knows how to win and how to get the best out of players, with Slot also having a keen eye on developing youngsters with potential to become senior figures.

With a good pre-season in the books, Liverpool fans could be in for quite the ride with Slot, who could be a hit at Anfield if the Reds can hit the ground running.
