Liverpool’s pre-season has finally come to an end after an emphatic 4-1 win against Sevilla, with Arne Slot’s side looking impressive heading into the new Premier League campaign.
From Luis Diaz to Trey Nyoni, a number of players impressed against the Andalusian giants at Anfield, with Liverpool looking exceptional ahead of their first proper game of the season against Ipswich Town on Saturday.
With Slot fielding a strong starting XI against Sevilla, there’s a real chance that the Dutch coach could stick to his guns and keep the same system in place for the trip to Portman Road next weekend for their Premier League opener.
Yet pundit Gary Gillespie thinks a youngster who did not feature could replace an Anfield regular in the XI.

Conor Bradley tipped to challenge Trent Alexander-Arnold starting spot
Speaking to LFC TV, Gillespie shared his opinion that Conor Bradley could challenge Trent Alexander-Arnold for the right-back position, with the Northern Ireland international impressing last season whilst his defensive counterpart was out injured.
With Gary McAllister praising Bradley’s development this summer, there’s a real chance that the youngster could feature in the first game of the season against Ipswich, even with Alexander-Arnold now back for the Reds.

Indeed, Bradley’s form has been hard to ignore, and this pre-season has now got pundits predicting the defender to potentially start over Alexander-Arnold, with Gillespie saying on the youngster: “In the three pre-season games we have seen so far, Conor Bradley did exceptionally well.
“So this is probably, I am not saying the first time Trent is under a little bit of pressure, but Conor Bradley is pushing him all the way for a starting position against Ipswich next week, I am absolutely positive about that.”

Bradley will be confident about breaking back into Liverpool’s starting XI
Bradley was one of the many youngsters to break into the Liverpool first-team under Jurgen Klopp last season, with the defender making 23 appearances in all competitions and registering six assists.
And for the new campaign under Slot, Bradley will be confident in his abilities to once again break into the starting XI, even with Alexander-Arnold starting this weekend against Sevilla and looking impressive.
The 21-year-old defender has everything in his locker needed to succeed at Liverpool, and Bradley could relish in the pressure of once again taking on Alexander-Arnold for the right-back position.
