Things have been going excellently for Arne Slot since he took over at Liverpool in June.
It is set to be a big task for the Dutchman to replace Jurgen Klopp following all the success the German had with the Reds.
Liverpool fans know that and will give Slot plenty of time to get his ideas across to the first-team squad. Things may take a while to get going.
Having said that, though, the new head coach could not have asked for a better start. Three wins out of three in pre-season – and victories against Man United and Arsenal – are cause for excitement.
The possibility that Liverpool are about to sign Martin Zubimendi is another reason for supporters – and Slot – to be pleased. However, just over a week out from the start of the Premier League campaign, the boss has been delivered a blow.

Jayden Danns ruled out for two months
Klopp’s tenure at Anfield is rightly seen as one of the best in Liverpool’s history. However, it was marked by some truly terrible luck with injury.
In at least two of the German’s eight full seasons in charge, the Reds were absolutely decimated by fitness problems.
It seemed to be that every other campaign, Liverpool were having to make up the difference by playing fringe players and players out of position.
This pre-season under Slot, it has been notable how little injury issues Liverpool have had. Andy Robertson is the only first-team player to have had any kind of problem that has kept him out.

Whether or not Jayden Danns is a first-team player perhaps depends on your perspective. But as per journalist David Lynch on Substack, Danns has now succumbed to an issue which will rule him out until October.
“Liverpool’s plans to loan out Jayden Danns for the coming season have been scuppered by injury,” Lynch reports.
The reporter goes on to say that Danns was being considered to go out on-loan this summer, but is now expected to be out for around two months instead.
Plymouth were reportedly one of the sides pushing to sign the 18-year-old, but he will remain with Liverpool until at least January instead.
What next for Jayden Danns?
This will be a shame for Danns. The 18-year-old was building up a head of steam at the back end of last season before injury struck him down again.
Wayne Rooney was keen to take Danns to Plymouth and that would have been a good move for him to kick on again. According to Lynch, though, it is not a guarantee that the youngster will go out on-loan at the next opportunity.
Instead, Slot will reportedly assess the striker once he’s back from his time away and will decide what to do with him from there.
Danns has been described as ‘special‘ during his days in the Liverpool academy and looks like being an enormous talent.
While it’s a shame that he won’t be getting more regular game time, Slot may at least be able to call on his services during the busy Autumn and Christmas period.
