Liverpool fans do not usually have much reason to be interested in what Wayne Rooney has to say.
Having played with such distinction for their two biggest rivals, Rooney has never been the most popular man at Anfield.
An aggressively passionate player during his day, Rooney has admitted that he was desperate to beat Liverpool whenever he came up against them for Everton or Manchester United.
And although he was at times public enemy number one at Anfield, Reds supporters could at least admit that the Scouser was one heck of a player.
Liverpool have turned die-hard Evertonians in their academy into Reds before and it’s a shame they missed out on Rooney’s talents in the same way.
Now, though, they have a player coming through who reportedly has the stamp of approval from Wayne himself.

Wayne Rooney keen on signing Jayden Danns
Since retiring from playing, Rooney has been trying his hand at management. So far, it hasn’t been going as well as the 38-year-old might have hoped.
An 18-month spell at Derby County was promising despite the Rams relegation to League One and Rooney did okay in the MLS with DC United.
But having come back to take over Birmingham City last season, Rooney took in a disastrous spell at St Andrews. In charge for just 15 games, the England legend won only twice before being sacked.
Still young though, Rooney has been given another chance with Championship side Plymouth Argyle this season.

And according to TeamTALK, the former Man United striker has his eye on raiding Liverpool for reinforcements.
They claim that Rooney is a ‘big admirer’ of Reds striker Jayden Danns. Danns broke through in a big way at Liverpool last season, but is claimed to be ‘well down the pecking order’ under Arne Slot this term.
As a result, it’s claimed that the Reds may be willing to sanction a loan move for the 18-year-old to gain regular playing time.
Although they reportedly have ‘high hopes’ for Danns, he could yet be sent away for the season. In that scenario, Rooney and Plymouth are said to be ‘at the front of the queue.’
Should Liverpool loan Jayden Danns?
It’s no surprise that Rooney likes the look of Danns. Aggressive, all-action and lethal in-front of goal, perhaps he sees something of himself in the youngster. For that reason, we’d actually like to see this happen.
While at Liverpool he would possibly get a little more game time than he did last year, Danns would still be looking at just a handful of appearances this season.
There are plenty of attacking options in the Liverpool squad and the teenager would indeed be low down on the list.
Having burst onto the scene so impressively last year, it would be a shame for Danns to then stagnate without playing for another season.
Danns is injured right now, but once he’s back fit, we’d suggest that a move to work under one of England’s best ever strikers might be a good way of keeping the momentum going for him.
