The new season drew ever nearer on Sunday as Liverpool beat Manchester United 3-0 in Columbia.
There are plenty of reasons for Reds supporters to be excited about the campaign, with Liverpool in excellent nick under Arne Slot.
It’s perhaps unwise to draw too many conclusions from pre-season matches, but the Reds are are now unbeaten in three games under their new head coach.
Summer victories over Arsenal and United will certainly give Slot hope that he’s in for a good debut season at Anfield.
But as well as the promise and hope of a season beginning, the summer also gives fans the chance to get excited about the releases of three shiny new kits.

Liverpool fans react to new away kit
Liverpool’s latest away kit offering was only unveiled on Thursday, with an unusually muted release.
But with the game against United coming up, the Nike strip was always going to do its talking on the pitch instead.
And in the ever diverse and diluted world of football kits, Liverpool seem to have managed to do that ever elusive thing: find a near universally loved combination.
“New LFC away kit is simple but good looking,” wrote on user on social media site X. “The teal and white accents on the black is super slick.”
“I still can’t get over this away kit, this is a classic,” said another fan. “I gotta buy the away kit, really gorgeous, absolute 10 out of 10!” one more added.
Other supporters were so impressed by the design from Nike that they’ve already got it on order.
“Let me even order this away kit. Beautiful sight,” one wrote.
“These away kits look amazing,” someone else noted. “Mine has been ordered! Looks like one of Nike’s best for LFC.”
“I’m loving this away kit!” said another, while more echoed the belief that it was one of Nike’s best in five years of designs for the Reds.
“Its nice to have an away kit by Nike that’s actually nice for once and not an eyesore,” said one happy fan.
Liverpool off to good start in new kit
Of course, any kit can be as nice as it wants to be, but it will always be ultimately judged on the results picked up while wearing it.
For Liverpool away kits, a lot of that can often boil down to how the Reds fare against Man United.
There have been some brilliant results at Old Trafford in recent years, with the 21/22 change strip elevated to legendary status after the 5-0 pummelling Liverpool dished out that season.
Conversely, a defeat at United and some other poor performances during the 2022/23 campaign saw that year’s kit earn a poor reputation amongst fans.
It remains to be seen how Liverpool get on when they rock up to Old Trafford in all black next season, but this outfit will already have a bit of credit in the bank when they do so.
