Liverpool attacker Fabio Carvalho has a huge season ahead, with the youngster eager to impress Arne Slot.

He is one of several Liverpool players who now have a massive chance to stake a claim in the senior squad, with Carvalho having held detailed talks with Slot.

The player joined the Reds from Fulham in 2022, but he has made just 21 senior appearances, scoring three goals.

Carvalho’s time at Anfield has, of course, been interrupted by loan spells, with the attacker having spent last season on loan at both RB Leipzig and Hull City.

The former move certainly didn’t work out as expected, but the latter switch was a huge success for the player and indeed the Tigers.

But Carvalho is now back at Liverpool, and is the latest to shine under Slot after scoring in the 2-1 pre-season win over Arsenal.

The 21-year-old was on target alongside Mohamed Salah in Philadelphia, and has now opened up on his chances of featuring regularly under Slot.

Discussing whether he has an opportunity ahead of the new season, Carvalho told the official Liverpool website: “I can only hope so!

“Like I said, not just for me but for everyone coming in, there’s a new gaffer, everyone has got a chance to impress and we’ll just go from there.

“As long as we keep working hard, that’s the main thing and that’s what I’m trying to make the most out of.”

Will Fabio Carvalho get a chance under Arne Slot?

Klopp may have had an exact plan for Carvalho, who is only 21 years old and therefore needed more experience last season.

Carvalho admitted having ‘difficult times’ with Klopp, having been sent out on two separate loans by the German.

The attacker struggled in Germany, but quickly put those bad memories behind him by shining for Hull in the Championship.

It is, however, only pre-season, and so Carvalho must continue working hard in training and on the pitch in order to continue impressing.

Slot does not have all of his players back in action, while the Dutchman is also likely to bring in new players before the season starts.
