Chelsea have reportedly made an opening offer to sign an attacker that has recently been linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Blues have once again been one of the biggest spenders in the summer transfer market, with Chelsea splashing out big sums to sign the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Omari Kellyman, with Ian Maatsen being sold to Aston Villa.
With Liverpool yet to make a single signing, the likes of Chelsea have become something of a source of jealousy for Reds supporters given how much the west London seem to be spending again, even if Enzo Maresca has done little to actually improve the first-team squad.
And it appears that Chelsea have made an offer to sign a Liverpool-linked forward.

Chelsea launch bid to sign Liverpool target Maximilian Beier
According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea, as well as Aston Villa, have made an offer to sign Hoffenheim star Maximilian Beier, who this week has been linked with a move to Liverpool, after an incredible 12 months for club and country.
Plettenberg said on Chelsea making a move for Liverpool target Beier: “Chelsea and Aston Villa have submitted concrete offers to Maximilian Beier. Two more top clubs from abroad have made contact in the last hours.
“Leverkusen, still in the race. But no club has started negotiations with Hoffenheim yet. No total verbal agreements with the player have been reached. Final decision within the next 14 days. The 21 y/o talented striker with a release clause of €30m (£25m).”
Indeed, Beier was one of the best forwards in the Bundesliga last season, and whilst the youngster hasn’t agreed a move to Chelsea just yet, Liverpool are losing valuable ground in their bid to sign the attacker this week.

Reds need to step up their efforts to sign Beier this summer
Beier has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time now, with the Reds clearly interested in signing a new forward this summer to add to the likes of Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota.
And with Chelsea in the mix for Beier, Liverpool need to be stepping up their efforts to sign the 21-year-old, who could be a dream match for Arne Slot if a deal was to be completed in the coming weeks.
Indeed, time is slowly running out for Liverpool to land Beier given how quick Chelsea can be to wrap up signings, and with an offer in the pipeline for the striker, the Merseyside giants might need to retaliate with a bid of their own for the German.
