Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shared his thoughts on Liverpool’s new head coach Arne Slot ahead of the two sides meeting in pre-season.
The Dutchman was this summer named the Reds’ successor to Jurgen Klopp, with the German coach stepping down from his position with Liverpool after nine years at Anfield, in which the former Borussia Dortmund man enjoyed incredible success.
With Conor Bradley noting similarities between Arne Slot and Klopp, there’s a real chance that the new Liverpool manager could be a hit on Merseyside in his debut year, where the 45-year-old coach will want to make an immediate impact.
And Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has now shared his thoughts on Slot.

Arteta reveals he’s heard good things about Liverpool coach Slot
Speaking to the press ahead of Wednesday night’s pre-season tie, Arteta shared that he has a positive opinion of Slot, with the Arsenal manager revealing that he’s impressed with how the Dutch coach has set up his former teams.
Indeed, Slot arrived in England this summer with an incredible reputation from the Netherlands having impressed with Feyenoord over the years, and at Liverpool, the coach will want to take his career to the next level at Anfield.
Arteta said when asked about his opinion on new Liverpool manager Slot: “I don’t know him personally, but I’ve watched his past team. First of all, I like a lot the person and the way he comes across.
“I heard very good things about players that are probably the best ones to ask as well and I am really impressed as well, the way he sets up his teams and clarity and the quality that the team shows, so yeah, it’s going to be a really good game.”

Slot could be the dream manager for the Reds next season
Liverpool knew that replacing Klopp was going to be an impossible task once the German announced he was leaving Merseyside, yet the Reds might have just nailed it in finding a successor in Slot.
The 45-year-old has thrived on the touchline in recent years in the Netherlands, with Slot taking Feyenoord to a European final, an Eredivisie title and a domestic cup win in the past few seasons.
And at Liverpool, Slot could be the next manager to guide Liverpool to success, with the Dutchman having all the tools to replace Klopp and then some in the coming years at Anfield.
