Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is having the time of his life with Argentina, having just clinched the Copa America trophy.
The 25-year-old helped guide his side to World Cup success in 2022, with another major trophy now going his way.
The Argentine started and played 97 minutes as his nation defeated Colombia 1-0 after extra-time in the USA.
Argentine media have delivered interesting verdicts on Mac Allister’s final display, with the midfielder having played in all but one match throughout the successful tournament.
It comes off the back of a fine individual season for Liverpool, where he featured 46 times across all competitions.

The messages of congratulations have been going the way of Mac Allister following the win, with his former Liverpool teammate Adrian among those reacting.
The midfielder wrote on Instagram: “Champions of America,” with Adrian commenting: “Congratulations player. Enjoy and savour every second!”

Liverpool goalkeeping department undergoes big changes
Adrian has only just departed Anfield, with the goalkeeper exiting Merseyside upon the expiry of his contract.
Goalkeeping coach John Achterberg reacted to Adrian’s exit, with the former having also left the Reds this summer.

It is an area that is undergoing plenty of change in Arne Slot’s early days in charge, with Fabian Otte coming in to replace Achterberg.
First-choice goalkeeper Alisson meanwhile has yet to return to pre-season training following his exploits with Brazil at Copa America.
His deputy Caoimhin Kelleher has, however, started working under Slot, having been among the first group of players to get going ahead of the new season.
