Liverpool fans are starting to get used to the idea that Jurgen Klopp is no longer their manager.

It has now been almost two months since the legendary German said his goodbyes after a fantastic nine years with the Reds.

Since then, the Arne Slot era has kicked off, with the former Feyenoord coach almost a week into pre-season at the AXA Training Centre.

Slot has also brought onboard a new coaching team, who are getting settled in at Anfield along with their boss.

In the meantime, Klopp has been in the news, turning up at various events and even giving his take on who will win the Copa America.

Jurgen Klopp linked with USA job

One of the teams competing in the Copa America this year were hosts USA. However, the States failed to get out of the group, eliminated by Panama.

As a result, they have sacked manager Gregg Berhalter following the failure at the tournament. They need a new manager.

According to The Independent, that manager could be Klopp. They claim that contact has already been made to establish whether or not the 57-year-old would be interested in the position. Surprising news as this was, plenty of Liverpool supporters were out online to give their take on things.

“Could be perfect for him. Doubt anyone would have a problem with it,” wrote one Reds fan.

“I think he could do it, he will get the full summer off, and the national team job isn’t as demanding as club,” says another.

Not everyone was quite so enthusiastic, though. Some claimed that there was no chance Klopp would be returning to management just yet.

“Absolutely no chance. He said he will be taking at least 12m off,” one reacted.

“I just can’t see Klopp wanting to manage a National team. The way he wants his teams to play means he needs to be with them year round,” added one more.

“Klopp is a winner. It’s impossible for him to be a winner with USA,” someone else agreed.

“He’s a free man, can do whatever he likes,” another weighed in, perhaps summing up the feeling best amongst Liverpool fans.

Will Jurgen Klopp join USA?

You’d be hard pushed to find a Liverpool fan who would begrudge Klopp his next move.

However, it would feel a little strange if the boss joined a new team so soon after leaving the Reds. After citing a lack of energy as his main reason for leaving, surely he’d need a longer break.

Nevertheless, there seems to be a real push to get him to the US. Maybe the opportunity to live in another part of the world while having an essentially part-time job could lure Jurgen.

Former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has claimed that he can convince Klopp to take over at his former national team.

If he does manage that, USA would gain several million new fans overnight.
