Jurgen Klopp will forever remain a Liverpool legend after what the iconic manager achieved at Anfield.

The German left the Merseyside club at the end of last season, bringing the curtain down on his eight-and-a-half-year tenure.

Announcing the decision in January certainly shocked many Liverpool fans, and undoubtedly many of his players.

That may have been behind a real dip in form from the Reds, although they did at least go on to win the League Cup and secure a top-four league finish.

Klopp will undoubtedly keep in close contact with many of his former players in the years to come, having already messaged Andy Robertson after the left-back became Scotland’s most-capped captain.

Arne Slot has big shoes to fill after Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool exit

New Liverpool manager Arne Slot quite simply has massive shoes to fill in the Anfield dugout, with a quick start needed.

Reds fans will give the Dutchman time to find his feet in England, but at the same time there will be high expectations to succeed right away.

Another Premier League title charge is very much expected by the fans, with a successful run in the Champions League also on their wishlist.

Slot has been doing his utmost to get a headstart in his new role, having already watched Liverpool matches and training sessions.

That should give him a little boost before the hard work gets going, but he will know more than most that it won’t compare to actually being in charge of affairs at the club.

Getting to know his new players will be key, although Slot will have to wait some time to work with the likes of Alisson, Nunez, Diaz and Mac Allister given their current commitments.
