Another Liverpool youngster was spotted back running in training yesterday after coming back from a long-term injury.
Liverpool are spoiled with exciting young talent at the moment. Everywhere you look in the squad, there is at least on talented up and coming young player in each position.
Much of that is a credit to how Jurgen Klopp has promoted young players since he joined Liverpool. However, most of it is down to the brilliant work being done at the academy by the likes of Alex Inglethorpe, the club’s youth coaches and scouts.
Liverpool operate on much smaller budgets in comparison to other academies at big clubs. However, they spend that money wisely and invest time and effort into developing the best players.
The club’s methods are unique, but so is the success that has been achieved. Especially, this season with the emergence of so many exciting young talents.
There was one though who really caught the eye in pre-season last summer. However, he has unfortunately had a step-back in his development recently.

What happened to Ben Doak and when could he be back?
In pre-season, Ben Doak was Liverpool’s breakthrough star. The young Scotsman dazzled defenders with his direct style of play.
He even scored a goal against Leicester City and constantly put in impressive performances.
However, during the start of the season, Doak picked up an injury niggle. That sort of derailed his progress and while he made a few appearances following that niggle, he then picked up a more serious meniscus tear.
This has ruled him out of action since December. However, he was spotted back running in training yesterday. The youngster shared the good news on his Instagram story.
That would suggest he is nearing a come back and could even be back later this month. Or potentially in early May.
How highly rated is Ben Doak?
Doak is extremely highly rated at Liverpool and was recently named in GOAL’s prestigious NXGN list of the top 50 youngsters to watch in world football.
Liverpool U21 coach Barry Lewtas has described him as ‘special’ in the past [Liverpool ECHO].
Meanwhile, in a previous report, it was claimed that Jurgen Klopp has also been ‘pleasantly surprised’ by Doak’s progress up until his injury this season.
