There is one thing in particular which is very similar about Ruben Amorim and Jurgen Klopp, and the fans will love it.

It’s really hard to think about Jurgen Klopp not sitting in the Liverpool dugout next season. He has practically become synonymous with the club.

Over the years, the German has become not just a manager but a figurehead and a source of inspiration for so many. He’s someone we have all looked up to.

However, if there was anyone who might have what it takes to replace him, it’s Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese boss is young and still very much at the beginning of his career.

However, already he has an impressive resume. In his first role in Portugal’s top flight with Braga, he helped them to the Portugal Cup. Then when he took over at Sporting CP, he brought home their first league title in 19-years.

Now he is on course to repeat that achievement this season. Especially after what happened last weekend against rivals Benfica.

Playing with a similar high-risk, high-reward philosophy to Klopp, Amorim’s side is exciting to watch and entertaining. But it’s not just the playing style in which Amorim resembles the Liverpool boss.

Why Ruben Amorim is similar to Klopp and why fans will love it

This season, and throughout all of his time spent at Liverpool, one thing Jurgen Klopp has embraced really well is the club’s academy.

Klopp has not been shy in promoting young players from the academy and throwing them in at the deep-end.

Lee Clark has told us in an exclusive interview about Boby Clark’s career just how influential Klopp has been with the club’s young players.

Under Amorim, that won’t change. The Sporting CP boss has very much also promoted youth from the very beginning of his career at the club.

Ruben Amorim’s record with young players

In total, 25 players aged 21-years-old or younger made their debuts under Amorim at Sporting CP.

Under him, a total of three players also broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-standing record by becoming the youngest players to represent Sporting CP in a competitive game.

Some of the academy players Amorim has promoted over the years include Matheus Nunes, who is now at Manchester City, Nuno Mendes who is playing at Paris Saint Germain, and Goncalo Inacio, who has been crucial at Sporting CP for many years and has attracted the attention of Liverpool.

That’s a really impressive track record, and something that we hope will continue if he is appointed as manager of Liverpool.
