Liverpool’s home form remains something of a cheat code as they aim to win the Premier League title.
Following Sunday’s 2-1 win over Brighton, the Reds are still yet to lose a game at Anfield all season long. After 15 games on home turf in 2023/24, their record reads: 12 games won, three drawn.
One of those draws came against Arsenal back in December. It’s a match that Liverpool will feel they should have won, given a big chance missed by Trent Alexander-Arnold late on. Nevertheless, they had to settle for a point.
It was a big result for Arsenal, who still haven’t won on Liverpool’s patch in the Premier League since September 2012.
And according to one of their star players, the atmosphere inside the stadium certainly made a big impact on the visitors.

Anfield hailed as best atmosphere in England
Although it’s often dismissed as being a myth by rival supporters, there really is something special about the atmosphere at Anfield.
Too many legends of the game have hailed its magical ability to pull Liverpool over the line. Heck, just ask the Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, he’ll tell you exactly how tough it is to go there as an opposition player or manager.
And now, from a Gunners point of view, star defender William Saliba has also given the Reds’ home a big thumbs up. Asked to name his favourite stadium to play in in the Premier League by Sky Sports, Saliba went for Anfield.
“Because it’s a good atmosphere there,” justified the 23-year-old. Put to him if the Liverpool ground is the best atmosphere he’s played in during his time in England, Saliba confirmed that to be true, too.
“In England? Yeah,” he said.
It was a blow for Saliba’s Arsenal teammate Gabriel, who had predicted that his centre-back partner would opt for Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge. “Because he got man of the match there,” said the Brazilian. But Anfield won the day!
How many home games do Liverpool have left
As we enter the final stretch of the Premier League season, Liverpool need to press home any advantage that they can.
And although their title rivals are also good when playing at their own stadiums, neither are quite as reliable as the Reds.
Of their nine games remaining, only four are at home, though. That will become three after Thursday, when they entertain relegation battlers Sheffield United.
From then, Liverpool have home matches against Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Wolves as they seek a golden send-off for Jurgen Klopp. Let’s prove Saliba right, and get the old ground bouncing for each of them!
