Conor Bradley says Liverpool have a player who shoots exactly like Cristiano Ronaldo

After a year away, Liverpool players have been re-announcing themselves as some of the best in the world this season.

For example, having been heavily criticised last year, Reds captain Virgil van Dijk is once again being lauded as the world’s number one centre-back.

Alisson Becker is another to have been hailed as the best in the business, while Mohamed Salah is always in the conversation.

But according to right-back Conor Bradley, there’s another Liverpool player who is drawing comparisons to one of the biggest stars of this generation.

Conor Bradley makes Cristiano Ronaldo claim

In conversation with the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, Bradley was asked to name the best free-kick taker currently at Liverpool.

It wasn’t an easy one to answer for the Northern Irishman, who immediately ruled himself out of the running.

But having considered Trent Alexander-Arnold, Bradley ultimately plumped for Dominik Szoboszlai.

“I think Dom,” the 20-year-old decided. “Between him and Trent. But just the way Dom hits the ball, I’ve never seen before. It’s a bit like Ronaldo-esque where it just knuckleballs.”

Dominik Szoboszlai can do it all

Szoboszlai has been a really good signing for Liverpool this season. The Hungarian has added a little bit of everything to the Reds’ midfield.

As well as being a supreme striker of the ball, Szoboszlai is also an excellent presser. Hailed as being a ‘clever footballer’ after Sunday’s loss against Man United, the 23-year-old can seemingly do it all.

However, not everyone has been quite so impressed. Pundit Eamon Dunphy claimed yesterday that Szoboszlai’s signing was actually a mistake from Jurgen Klopp. Dunphy doesn’t believe the former RB Leipzig man has pulled his weight.

Although we can understand that to a small degree – Szoboszlai has certainly dropped off a little recently – that seems extremely harsh.

As Bradley’s words attest, Liverpool’s No.8 has the talent and quality to match some of the very biggest names in the sport. With some fine-tuning, Dom could really be special.

It hasn’t always been a perfect season for Szoboszlai – and he’s yet to find the net from a free-kick – but let’s be patient. The best is yet to come from Liverpool’s very own Ronaldo.
