Liverpool must not forget about ‘incredible’ player who Jurgen Klopp said will be back soon

There’s been so many exciting players coming through the ranks at Liverpool this season. From the likes of Jarell Quansah to Conor Bradley. And more recently Jayden Danns, Bobby Clark, James McConnell and Lewis Koumas.

It seems like a golden generation and a crowning moment for the work that has been going on at the club’s academy for years now. But while all the players coming through are exciting perhaps the most exciting name of them all is one who hasn’t really featured a lot this season.

Stefan Bajcetic was the break-out star for Liverpool last season, becoming the youngest ever player to debut in the Champions League for the club and the fourth youngest to score in the Premier League. Overall, Bajcetic made 19 appearances for Liverpool’s first team that season before an injury ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign around this time last year.

Stefan Bajcetic is an ‘incredible’ player

Bajcetic has been going through a growth spurt since, and as a result he has only featured in 72 minutes of action for Liverpool’s first team this season. The club has managed him carefully, building the muscles in his body to make sure he doesn’t pick up any serious long-term injuries when he is back on the pitch for Liverpool or aggravate his body in a damaging way.

This risk management is to serve in his best interest and will prolong his career in the long-term. However, the good news is that Klopp revealed recently that Bajcetic is expected to rejoin team training later this month.

If that will be the case, then this will be a huge boost for Liverpool. Many people have forgotten just how good Bajcetic was last season. But there is a reason why Klopp has described him as ‘incredible’ in the past. He is someone who could save the club a lot of money in the long-term and is capable of playing either as a holding midfielder or as a number eight.

The Spanish U21 international is still one of the most exciting prospects at Liverpool. He is only 19-years-old as well. And should not be forgotten about. When he does return he will show fans what the Reds have been missing for the past 12 months or so.
