‘It’s impossible’… £67m Liverpool player’s agent suggests he definitely won’t be leaving

With the pain of losing Jurgen Klopp to come in the next few months for Liverpool fans, they could do without any more heartache.

But, unfortunately, there have been rumours that a clutch of the Reds top players will follow their manager out of Anfield. Those are just whispers at the moment, but nervousness surrounds the futures of the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah in particular.

One man who hasn’t been mentioned as potentially being on the move is Alisson Becker. Although currently injured, the goalkeeper remains one of Liverpool’s absolutely key players. Losing him would be a travesty.

Although there seems to be no real danger of that, Brazilian site Revista Colorada do report on some viral internet speculation about Alisson returning to former side Internacional.

With Inter in need of a new goalkeeper, the name of Liverpool’s No.1 has seemingly been mentioned online. From there, a snowball seems to have developed. Thankfully, the Brazilian outlet put the question of Alisson’s potential return to his agent, Ze Maria. Predictably, the rumours have now been put to bed.

“There’s nothing. There was no contact. Right now it’s impossible,” says Ze Maria. Well, we could have told you that!

Alisson agent rejects rumours

Had this started to gather pace, it would have been one of the wildest transfer rumours for quite some time.

With all due respect to Inter, Alisson is quite probably the best goalkeeper in the world at the moment. He isn’t leaving Liverpool, but if he did, it certainly wouldn’t be back to his boyhood club.

Back in 2018, when the Reds bought Alisson from Roma, they paid a princely £67m for his services.

Although a record for a ‘keeper at the time, the 31-year-old has arguably got even better in the years since. Were Liverpool to be forced into a sale, it would potentially have to stretch into the hundred million region.

Again, we mean no disrespect to Inter, who are a massive club in their own right. But their current record transfer fee stands at around £5m.

There is of course a chance that Alisson does one day return to Inter. Plenty of top Brazilian players have come back to their homeland to see out the last years of their career.

Being the man that he is, you could see the Liverpool stopper heading back to Porto Alegre to be closer to his family once his time in Europe is done.

But still in or even yet to hit his peak as a goalie, that won’t be for a few years yet.

Alisson has previously stated his desire to spend many years at Liverpool. It remains to be seen whether Klopp leaving will change that, but hopefully his intent will remain the same. A glorious return to Inter might be on the cards when he Ali does pack himself up, but for now, that’s a long way off.
