Alexis Mac Allister and Andy Robertson have both praised Bobby Clark after the Liverpool teenager’s display yesterday against Chelsea.

The 19-year-old was one of four academy graduates who came off the bench for the Reds at Wembley Stadium as Liverpool’s injury-hit squad forced Jurgen Klopp to turn to youth players.

Despite the occasion, Clark impressed after replacing Conor Bradley 72 minutes in, with the midfielder winning praise from Jamie Carragher after his cameo from the bench.

And taking to Instagram, Mac Allister and Robertson lauded the Liverpool academy star for his display at Wembley, with the Argentine international writing ‘too good’ under Clark’s post.

With James McConnell and Jayden Danns also impressing from the bench, it was a brilliant day for Liverpool’s academy as the Reds lifted the League Cup against Chelea’s £1bn squad.

And for Clark, the fixture will go down as one of his best yet in Liverpool colours, with the teenager only just getting started in his career with the Anfield giants.

Liverpool’s injury problems has forced Klopp’s hand in playing academy players perhaps a few months too early in their development, yet Clark is clearly an exception to the rule.

The midfielder has taken to senior football like a duck to water, and in his longest appearance yet for Liverpool, Clark showed why the teenager has such a massive future ahead of him at Anfield.

The 19-year-old was comfortable on the ball and showed real quality in what could be Liverpool’s only cup final appearance this season.

And for many fans, Clark represents the next generation of Liverpool players, with the midfielder winning plaudits from the right figures who can help the youngster develop into a top player on Merseyside.
