If this isn’t an injury crisis at Liverpool, then nothing else is. Jurgen Klopp’s options are dwindling more rapidly than water drying on the scorching hot dessert. It seems every day there is another ominous update about key players ruled out from the squad.
Liverpool already without the likes of Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak and Joel Matip due to long-term injuries. Meanwhile, Thiago Alcantara, Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold have also missed the last few games after returning from injuries.
Then last weekend, Liverpool were dealt a blow against Brentford with injuries to Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones. In the game, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah also picked-up knocks, which now makes them doubts for tonight’s game against Luton and the Carabao Cup final.
However, there is probably another injury, which could be an even bigger blow if the current reports are to be believed.

Alisson Becker injury latest
Speaking to TNT Sports in Brazil, Dorival Junior, who is the head-coach of the Brazil national team, revealed that he does not expect Alisson Becker to be available for Brazil’s friendly fixtures in March.
Alisson suffered a hamstring injury just before Liverpool’s game against Brentford. If Dorival Junior’s words are to be believed, this means that Alisson is now certain to miss the Carabao Cup final. Not only that the Brazilian goalkeeper looks unlikely to face Manchester City and Everton. Both fixtures will fall just before the international break, meaning it’s unlikely Alisson will feature in them based on Junior’s comments.
If it’s true, it’s a huge blow for Liverpool. Alisson has been integral to the club’s success over the years. He is one of the best keepers in the world. And he’s saved Liverpool on multiple occasions. There are no doubts Caoimhin Kelleher is a fantastic deputy behind him. But even he cannot compete with Alisson.
The Brazilian will be sorely missed. Liverpool must now keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best.
