Even though Liverpool fans just want to concentrate on the time left with Jurgen Klopp, there’s no getting around it. Over the next few months there is going to be a lot of talk about who his replacement is going to be.

Right now, Xabi Alonso seems to be the clear favourite. Not only for the work that he has done at Bayer Leverkusen, but also for his affiliations with Liverpool and the club’s supporters. However, it’s not just Alonso who will be in the running for the Liverpool job.

There will be others as well who will come into contention. Some names that have been mentioned include Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim. Another who has been linked is Thomas Frank. And the Brentford manager has recently addressed his future.

50-year-old Thomas Frank is one of the best under the radar managers in the Premier League. His achievements speak for themselves. Frank was the first manager to guide Brentford to the Premier League.

He’s been able to keep Brentford in the division and make them a really competitive team. At home, Frank is still yet to lose to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side, having drawn once and beaten the Reds last year.

He plays an exciting brand of attacking football. Staying true to his philosophy. He also likes to play a similar pressing game to Klopp. And on top of that he’s got the charisma and the charming personality which many Liverpool fans have been infatuated by since his Brentford side have joined the Premier League.

So, overall links to Liverpool make sense. And Frank has addressed those rumours admitting that he doesn’t think he will stay at Brentford forever. However, he did also say that he is feeling very content in his current situation.

“There’s a lot rumours out there,” Frank told Sky Sports. “I think we all have kind of an ego and the ego likes that little bit of sugar but at the end of the day, I’m at Brentford.

“I’m very happy here. Do I have ambitions? Yes. Am I going to stay at Brentford forever? Maybe, but probably not.

“So who knows what’s going to happen in the future. What I know is that I’m here at Brentford and I’m very happy with it.”
