If there was one man who could be given the ultimate credit against Burnley for Liverpool – it would be Harvey Elliott. The young Liverpool midfielder came on in the second-half and changed the game.
It was his cross, which was ultimately turned in by Luis Diaz to help Liverpool take the lead. And then later, another one of his crosses set-up Darwin Nunez to score.
But aside from those two key moments, Elliott was brilliant. Constantly looking to create chances and cause Burnley problems. This was an accomplished performance. A performance that he can be the catalyst for Elliott to go on and achieve even more in a Liverpool shirt.
It was also a performance which saw the 20-year-old break his own record in a Liverpool shirt in the Premier League.

Harvey Elliott record broken vs Burnley
Going into the game, the most goal contributions Harvey Elliott has made in a single season in the Premier League was three. He set that personal record last season with a goal and two assists. And he matched it earlier this season, scoring once and registering two assists prior to Burnley.
But that record was broken as soon as he entered the pitch. Elliott’s two assists in the game and his Man of the Match performance means this is now his best individual season in the Premier League.
At 20-years-old this is a natural progression for the Liverpool midfielder. Elliott should get better and better and the fact that he already has five goal contributions despite only starting three league games this season is impressive.
He’s also still got 14 more league games to improve his record even further. The future is clearly bright.
