It wasn’t the prettiest performance by Liverpool against Burnley. Neither did everything go according to script as Jurgen Klopp would have wanted. But in the end no one will remember the performance at the end of the season. All everyone will care about is the result and three points.
In a title race that is set to go down to the wire, that is all that matters. And now we are really starting to get to the business end of the season. It is here where Manchester City explode to live, and it is now that Liverpool simply cannot afford to slip up.
That’s why after Arsenal last weekend, it was so important for Jurgen Klopp’s side to get this game right. Liverpool just needed to get a victory and move on to the next one. Thankfully, Klopp got a little bit more. With a key player returning for his side.

Kostas Tsimikas injury boost
It went a little under the radar, but in the dying embers of the game, Kostas Tsimikas made a hugely important return from injury. The 27-year-old came on in added time to make his first appearance for Liverpool since suffering a shoulder injury against Arsenal back in December.
The post-match reaction has mostly focused on other highlights of the game, Tsimikas’ injury return hasn’t really received that much attention. However, it’s a huge boost for Klopp. At this stage of the season, he needs everyone available in his squad. Tsimikas is a key squad player who provides important depth, and who will be crucial in the coming months ahead.
