With all the news dominated by Jurgen Klopp’s departure, you almost sometimes forget there is still a season to play for Liverpool. A season where there is still so much at stake. And one which could still be full of success and wonderful memories along the way.

Liverpool showed that at the weekend with a big victory over Norwich City in the FA Cup. The game will have been a huge positive for Klopp for several reasons. For one, the reception he received and the atmosphere around Anfield was special.

And then there were the performances of his younger players – with several young academy stars catching the eye. On top of that, Klopp also got a big boost with the return of several key players – including one who according to a former Liverpool player should play every game.

Former Liverpool player on Dominik Szoboszlai

Speaking to Hungarian outlet Mandiner, former Liverpool player, Istvan Kozma was asked about the future of Dominik Szoboszlai amid the news of Klopp leaving. Kozma revealed he was not worried about Szoboszlai’s future at the club. He also added that he believes he should be starting every game.

“From his point of view, it is not certain that the summer change will be beneficial,” Kozma began.

“He was clearly brought to the club by Jurgen Klopp, and accordingly he gets a lot of playing opportunities from him. I consider Dominik to be such a good player that he will convince the next coach as well. I was a little worried when he came to Liverpool, whether he would be able to pick up the English rhythm, which is difficult to compare with others.

“However he got into it so well, practically he does most of the running. I say: he cannot be left out of the team! Especially if he also does great things like his goals, assists and tackles. Unstoppable!”

Szoboszlai is now back fit for Liverpool after missing a few games this month. The Reds have definitely missed the Hungarian’s energy at times. Kozma is right. This will be a huge boost, and the 23-year-old is definitely one of the first names on the team-sheet.
