It feels like a lifetime ago now that Liverpool last kicked a football. By the time Jurgen Klopp’s men take on Bournemouth this weekend – it will have been almost two weeks.

The long lay off was much needed though. Klopp’s having to contend with several injuries at the moment. And on top of that, Mohamed Salah is away at the African Cup of Nations and Wataru Endo at the Asian Cup.

Getting a bit of respite and allowing the players available to rejuvenate could not have come at a better time for Liverpool. Now though, starting with Bournemouth at the weekend, a gruelling schedule begins again. With Liverpool hoping to continue to fight on all four fronts.

Ahead of the game, former Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher has shared his own predictions.

Jamie Carragher predicts Liverpool vs Bournemouth

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Stick to Football podcast, Carragher revealed he believes the game against Bournemouth will be a tough one for Liverpool. Especially with two key players missing from the side.

“I think this is going to be a tough game for Liverpool,” Carragher said.

“Trent isn’t playing so the creator is out. No Salah. I think it’ll be a tight Liverpool win. 2-1 Liverpool. I think Bournemouth will get a goal but Liverpool have still got a lot of firepower.”

Carragher may be right. Liverpool have lost a lot of creativity without Alexander-Arnold and Salah. On top of that Dominik Szoboszlai is also a doubt for the game. With so many injuries and Bournemouth in good form, things won’t be easy for Klopp’s side.

But we are confident they will be able to come back to Anfield with three points.
