Liverpool are not actively looking to do business in the January transfer window. The Reds are more reactive than proactive when it comes to this window in particular.

Jurgen Klopp simply prefers to conduct his business in the summer. In that period, new recruits have more time to blend in and adjust to Klopp’s regime. Whereas in the January window, it’s a lot more difficult for players to settle mid-season.

Nonetheless, the club will be open to business even this month if the possibility arises. Although it is simply more likely that any sort of business will be done in the summer. Especially when it comes to the latest lucrative signing being linked with Liverpool.

Bruno Guimaraes Liverpool latest

One player who has been linked with a move to Liverpool recently is Bruno Guimaraes. The 26-year-old Newcastle midfielder has been a revelation since arriving in the Premier League and according to the latest reports he is looking to leave for pastures new.

Spanish outlet Sport reports that Newcastle United need to sell players and that Guimaraes is looking to leave the club as soon as possible. The report also claims it would cost £100m for any club to buy him with PSG and Barcelona also interested.

Guimaraes is clearly a fantastic player, and he would be a top signing for Liverpool. Someone who would elevate the club’s starting XI. However, the price tag seems way too much for Liverpool to pay. Especially when the midfield isn’t necessarily a priority at this stage for Klopp’s side. And there are probably better value for money targets available in the market.
