Jordan Henderson could reportedly bring in millions of pounds for Liverpool as Ajax close in on a permanent deal for the midfielder.
The Dutch giants have been strongly linked with a move for the England international this January window just a few months after Henderson quit Liverpool for Saudi Arabia.
The reported £12m move to the Middle East hasn’t worked out for the 33-year-old midfielder, with Henderson now set to return to Europe.
And according to Votebal International, Ajax are making big strides in signing Henderson on a permanent deal, with the former Liverpool captain ready to take a major pay cut to make the move happen.
As reported by TalkSport, Liverpool inserted a sell-on clause in Henderson’s deal to Al-Ettifaq this summer, meaning that the Reds could stand to make quite a healthy payday from their former skipper.
Indeed, Liverpool were smart to include such a clause in Henderson’s move to Saudi Arabia, and the decision could now be about to pay off big time if Ajax can reach an agreement over a transfer fee.

Liverpool’s sell-on clause for Henderson remains an unknown percentage at the time of writing, yet any funds brought in this January could be major for the Reds.
As we know, the Anfield side are keen to make a signing or two before the end of the window, and Henderson’s move to Ajax could help Liverpool with such a move.
Whilst it could only be a few million that the Reds end up receiving, that could be enough for Liverpool to make a potential loan signing if Jurgen Klopp’s transfer team can find the ideal addition.
